SEVENTEEN people were injured when a coach collided with a lorry on the A13 this Tuesday
Three teams of paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 10.30am on August 18 as many coach passengers were complaining of neck injuries.
The crash happened in Alfred's Way, Barking, between Movers Lane and Ripple Road in the westbound carriageway.
Emergency services had to close the road down and paramedics were still treating patients at the scene as the POST went to press at 12pm.
One eye witness said: "It was an unbelievable sight. There were loads people coming out of the coach looking really shaken.
"The noise when the lorry and the coach hit each other was incredible and the crash looked really serious.
"I thought someone might have been killed."
Traffic in the westbound carriageway was brought to a standstill by the crash for more than two hours.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We got the call at 10.40am reporting a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a coach.
"We sent three ambulances and two fast responders. Staff on the scene treated 17 patients for neck pain.
