PLASHET PARK were narrowly pipped to the post by May & Baker in their see-saw home league match on Sunday.
Both sides received a drubbing on one rink, which proved to be an exciting and close game.
On rink two, skipper John Cooper, with his team of Alf Goring, Ken Carter and Ted King were clobbered by M&B 31-7.
But Plashet reversed that loss on rink three, which was skipped by Alan Hogwood, with Bob Copeland George Davies and Cliff Dye, as they won 28-7.
The fourth rink, skipped by Mike Mullinder, with Reg Evett, Lee Friar and Harry Morley, was a cat and mouse game with both teams running neck and neck right to the end, resulting in a 16-16 draw.
However, the final result was a win for M&B by two shots with Plashet scoring 52 to M&B's 54.
