FRANK MALONEY celebrated 25 years as a boxing promoter on Thursday, when he launched St George's Sporting Club with a gala dinner-boxing evening at The Troxy, Stepney.
Maloney, who stages shows at venues all over the country, including the Newham Leisure Centre, insists he wouldn't change for any job in the world.
"It is an old clich, but if it wasn't for boxing I don't know where I would be today.
"I certainly wouldn't have the lifestyle I've enjoyed for the last few years, or met so many amazing people, good and bad!"
Maloney has managed or promoted four world champions - Lennox Lewis, Paul Ingle, Scott Harrison and David Haye.
Thursday's bill included a win for Maloney's heavyweight prospect Tom Dallas, based at Canning Town's Peacock Gym.
Dallas scored his fifth straight success, blasting out Czech rival Slavomir Selicky in the opening round with a series of solid shots.
In the main event, Ross Burkinshaw was a seventh-round winner against Mike Robinson in an English super-flyweight title fight.
