PORTABLE buildings will be erected at fire-ravaged Cambell Infants School, it has been revealed.
And council bosses hope to reopen four classrooms which were not too severely damaged in the fire by mid-March. They will then begin tests on the infant school structure as part their 10-month rebuilding programme.
All 280 pupils apart from the 70 or so nursery children are studying at neighbouring Cambell Junior, Langley Crescent, Dagenham.
The council loss adjuster is liaising with insurers to assess building costs. The fire, thought to have been caused by an electrical fault, remains under investigation.
