A 24-year-old man has been charged with wounding after a car chase ended in a Romford police community support officer (PCSO) receiving a fractured skull.
James Ward, of The Chase, Rush Green, was remanded in court on Saturday after he appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court.
The police car chase began in Brentwood Road, Romford, on August 24, and ended in the car park of the Oak pub in South Street.
The PCSO was then pushed over and hit his head on the ground and was hospitalised with the injury.
Ward appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 10.
