CHRIS INCH, from the London Borough of Redbridge Swimming Club, participated in the Commonwealth Games trials held in Sheffield.
Having achieved tough qualifying times, Inch participated in his favoured event the 200m butterfly, against the best in Great Britain, including Olympic medallists.
The Redbridge competitor had a good swim, equalling his best time of two minutes, seven seconds, finishing ahead of three swimmers who beat him at last year's national championships.
Inch finished fourth overall in his age group and is now the 24th fastest butterfly swimmer in Britain. His main focus is now the National Swimming Championships in August.
