Even a day of dreary rain clouds and constant showers wasn’t enough to stop Havering’s hardcore partiers from celebrating at the first day of the 40th Havering Show.
Despite hours of rainfall which saw the Fairkytes Stage stay closed all day, the main stage still welcomed a whole host of impressive acts including Reservoir Mods, Phil Fearon and 80s superstars Curiosity Killed the Cat and Heatwave.
With Havering’s army cadets also on hand to help with clear up this evening, and the horticultural tent a hive of activity, there was still plenty for everyone who grabbed their umbrellas and Wellington boots and made their way to Harrow Lodge Park, Hornchurch.
The Mayor of Havering, Cllr Dilip Patel, was also in attendance.
He told the Recorder: “I’ve really, absolutely enjoyed coming here today.
“It is a shame about the weather, as it’s such a special year for us, but there is still so much to see and enjoy, and the forecast is still good for tomorrow.
“The weather is just one of those things that can’t be controlled, unfortunately.”
