An 18-year-old man has been bailed following a police chase through Dagenham on Thursday night (January 5).
Police received a report of a stolen vehicle in Warley Avenue at around 11.30pm. A chase ensued, with officers pursuing the car through surrounding streets.
The driver left the car in Whalebone Lane, where it subsequently collided with other vehicles. Officers were able to arrest the driver, with help from a police helicopter, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop.

A police spokesperson has now confirmed that an 18-year-old man was taken to an east London police station, and later bailed pending further enquiries.
