Emergency services, including London's Air Ambulance, attended a crash on the A406 North Circular that left a motorcyclist in hospital.

At 3.11pm yesterday (Monday, February 13), police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car.

The incident occurred at Beckton Roundabout, at the junction of the A406 and A13.

The Met Police said the motorcyclist, a woman in her 60s, was taken to hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A spokesperson added: "The male driver of the car involved has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving."

The crash caused severe delays and congestion all the way towards Ilford and Dagenham.

AA Maps said at the time: "Partially blocked, queueing traffic and delays due to serious crash on A406 North Circular eastbound at A13 Newham Way (Beckton Roundabout).

"Congestion to Ilford along the North Circular, with queues along the A13 Londonbound back towards Dagenham."

Road closures were in operation and, according to AA Maps, these have since been reopened.
