A man has been taken to hospital after an alleged stabbing took place in Dagenham during rush hour.

The man, in his 20s, was found with suspected stab wounds near Dagenham Heathway station this morning (Tuesday, February 28), police said.

His condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH).

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers were called at 8.12am on Tuesday, February 28 to reports of a fight near Dagenham Heathway Station.

"A man in his late 20s was found at the scene with suspected stab wounds.

"He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service where his injuries were not found to be life threatening or changing.

"Two men were arrested near the scene on suspicion of GBH.

"Enquiries continue."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called today (February 28) at 8.24am to reports of an incident at Heathway Station, Dagenham.

"We sent an incident response officer, a medic in a fast response car, and an ambulance crew to the scene.

"We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority."
