A Barking pub is welcoming customers under a new name after a refurbishment.

The Royal Oak in Longbridge Road has reopened as The Acorn after a £400,000 overhaul by pub owner Greene King.

The chain said that it has created around 15 new jobs for the area and will be operated by Doolin Rock Pub Company.

Greene King said the venue's trading spaces, bathroom facilities and kitchen have all been "significantly enhanced to provide a much more premium experience for pub goers".

This includes new decorations, tables and seating.

The pub’s beer garden has also been revamped and now features a stretch tent for year-round use, as well as a suntrap terrace at the front of the watering hole.
