Toys are coming alive to help a nutcracker doll defeat the evil Mouse King and save a little girl.

Tchaikovsky’s popular ballet The Nutcracker is being staged at The Broadway Barking for one Saturday night performance on September 23.

This charming fairy tale in Tchaikovsky’s musical repertoire is being performed by the Crown Ballet company about a magical realm where toys come to life and the nutcracker may just be a handsome prince in disguise.

The original is based on Hoffmann’s The Nutcracker and the Mouse King written in 1816 about a sad little girl called Marie whose godfather gives her a doll as a present on Christmas Eve.

The nutcracker doll and his army of toys battle the evil Mouse King to make goodness and beauty triumph in this musical tale, an ideal introduction for all ages to the magic of classical ballet.
