A man in his 20s was killed in a late night crash on the M25 near Potters Bar last night.

Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following the smash at 11pm.

Paramedics and police were called to report a road traffic collision involving a red Ford Focus between junction 23 (Bignells Corner) and junction 25, travelling anti-clockwise.

The driver of the Ford who was the only person in the vehicle, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by police officers.

Sergeant Tim Davies from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this very difficult time.

“We are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to please come forward.

"If you have a dash cam fitted, please review your footage as you may have captured vital evidence that could help us progress our enquiries.”

Road closures remained in place on the M25 and also on Barnet Road in Potters Bar last night and into Sunday morning.
