Police forensic officers have been spotted working at what appears to be a crime scene on a major Dagenham street.
Concerned residents took to social media last night with claims of a major incident on Heathway, just outside Dominos.
According to reports on social media, police are still at the scene and have been joined by officers in forensic suits.
A man who wanted to remain anonymous told the Barking & Dagenham Post: "We heard a fire and we went outside and guys are running here and there.
"The guy was holding a pistol and was running towards Heathway station.
"I wasn’t sure if it was real or fake but we heard the sound of a fire".
Both Met Police and London Ambulance Service were approached for comment this morning but have not as yet provided statements.
