A person who was taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the A13 has suffered minor injuries, Met Police have confirmed.

Officers were called at around 10.30am yesterday (November 29) to the collision involving a lorry and two cars on the major road near Dagenham.

London Ambulance Service attended, and medics treated two people at the scene.

One of them was taken to a major trauma centre in an air ambulance.

Their condition was earlier unknown, but Met Police revealed today that the person suffered non life-changing or non life-threatening injuries.

The other patient was discharged at the scene, LAS said.

Road closures were in place on A13 from Ripple Road (Goresbrook interchange) to Renwick Road with some passengers claiming to be stuck in the traffic for more than three hours.

Congestion extended to Rainham Marshes and Wennington Interchange, according to the AA.

All roads have since reopened.
