All Points East is back for 2024 with the first headliners announced for the genre-spanning music festival.

Following hot on the heels of news that British rap star Loyle Carner and Mercury Prize winners Ezra Collective will play Victoria Park on August 17, comes the confirmation that LCD Soundsystem will join them as festival headliners.

The New York dance-rock band will play on August 23, 2024 alongside Harrow-raised pop phenomenon Jai Paul playing his first UK festival, 80s alt-rock legends Pixies, plus Floating Points, Jockstrap, Nation of Language, Sofia Kourtesis (Live), Eyedress and Vagabon.

Since it first launched six years ago All Points East has become one of the biggest musical events in London's calendar with a line up of world class headliners, curated supporting line ups, and big exclusives running over two weekends in August.

LCD Soundsystem are a hugely influential band, which started in 2002, driven by the vision of James Murphy. Early hits included ‘Losing My Edge’ and ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House,’ while their 2007 album Sound of Silver, garnered critical praise with tracks like ‘New York I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down,’ and ‘All My Friends’.

The band became a huge live act after the release of their first top 10 US album This Is Happening, but after bidding fans farewell in 2011, they reformed and returned with the vintage-sounding American Dream in 2017.

More recently they have released the dancefloor filler ‘New Body Rhumba’, but apart from 12 dates in New York they were tipped to take time off from touring to work on new music.

But with Murphy teasing: ."Maybe we’ll just play other places next year, moving around to cities we like to play, where we’re wanted," it seems they must have liked playing the inaugural All Points East back in 2018.

Fans will also be treated to the unique experience of one of Pixies' live shows and Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points who recently performed his Mercury Prize nominated Promises to a packed Hollywood Bowl is sure to get the crowds up dancing with his latest energetic club-friendly single 'Birth4000'.
