A man has died after an alleged hit and run collision in Barking.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Movers Lane, near the junction with Gordon Road, at 9.22am on Monday (January 22).
Metropolitan Police officers attended alongside colleagues from London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.
The pedestrian, a man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the mad died as a result of his injuries.
His next of kin have been informed.
Police are seeking witnesses after the driver of the car allegedly failed to stop at the scene of the collision.
Two men have since been arrested in connection with the incident. They both remain in custody.
Enquiries are ongoing.
