A person has died after an incident near Reading which is causing major delays at London Paddington.
A casualty on the tracks was reported in the Reading area at around 9.25am today (October 7).
Officers and paramedics were called to the scene and the person was pronounced dead shortly after.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
All lines between Reading and London Paddington are currently closed as the incident is being dealt with.
National Rail has warned that there are 75 minute delays between London Paddington and stations including Penzance, Plymouth, Exeter St Davids, Weston-Super-Mare, Bristol Temple Meads, Swansea, Cardiff Central, Cheltenham Spa, Great Malvern and Oxford.
Major disruption is expected until 12pm.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line in Reading at around 9.25am today (7 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
