A runner is preparing to take on the TCS London Marathon.

Kiran Bhangal, from Barking, who is 34 and a supporter of Kidney Care UK, will run the 26.2-mile course in 2026 to raise money and awareness for people living with kidney disease.

Her fundraising campaign also highlights the importance of organ donation and the impact of the NHS sharing pool, which enables patients to match with suitable donors.

Kiran said: "Kidney Care UK is a charity that's very close to my heart. I am taking on the TCS London Marathon 2026 for every single kidney warrior, and to help ensure no one faces kidney disease alone. The aim of this profile piece is to help raise awareness of both Chronic Kidney Disease, the fact you can live a very healthy life with one kidney, and that a NHS organ donation sharing pool exists."

The charity has encouraged runners with their own marathon place to join its fundraising team.

Kidney Care UK said: "We're here for every runner taking on the famous course through the streets of London. Every contribution makes a huge difference to the lives of those living with kidney disease across the UK."
