Students have taken part in industry-led speed interviews designed to help kickstart their careers.
Plumbing and electrical students at Barking & Dagenham College took part in a day of short, focused interviews with employers from the construction and building services sector, including The Hill Group and Vistry Group.
The event was part of the college’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between education and employment by giving students opportunities to practise interviews in a supportive setting.

Nick Sansom, a member of staff at the college, said: "Our students did brilliantly. Interview practice is such an important part of preparing for employment, and you could see their confidence grow with every conversation.
"We’re grateful to our employer partners for giving our students such a valuable experience."
Employers offered constructive feedback on body language, presentation, and interview answers, as well as insights into what recruiters are looking for in candidates.
Some also discussed possible work placements, giving students a direct route into hands-on industry experience.
College staff said experiences like this are embedded into the college’s courses to ensure students leave not only with the right qualifications, but with the confidence and communication skills employers expect.
