A new 18-storey tower has reached its full height as part of a major regeneration scheme.

The milestone was celebrated at Dagenham Green, where the landmark building is one of three new blocks forming part of a growing build-to-rent community.

A topping out ceremony took place at the site, marking the progress of the tallest building on the former Ford Stamping Plant site.

The event was attended by representatives from The Hill Group, Peabody, and Goodstone Living, who are leading the project. The three buildings will deliver 360 rental apartments through a joint venture between The Hill Group and Peabody, with Goodstone Living acting as developer and operator.

Andy Hill OBE, founder and group chief executive of The Hill Group, said: "Topping out the tallest building at Dagenham Green is a proud milestone for everyone involved in this project. It is a visible demonstration of the real progress being made on what is one of east London’s most significant regeneration projects."

The wider Dagenham Green masterplan, led by Peabody, spans 45 acres and will eventually include more than 3,500 new homes, an urban park, community gardens, market square, a community hub, and land for a new school.

James McMylor, managing director of development and investment at Peabody, said: "Seeing the first build-to-rent homes reach their full height at Dagenham Green is a real moment of progress for us and for the community. We're looking forward to welcoming the people who will one day call this part of east London home."

The apartments, delivered in partnership with Goodstone Living, are part of the first phase, which will see 935 homes built. The development will include a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

Future tenants will have access to shared amenities including a concierge service, fitness facilities, co-working spaces, private dining areas, and two landscaped podium gardens overlooking a new urban park.

The first homes are expected to be available for rent from summer 2027. The entire project is scheduled for completion by summer 2028.
