A special book honouring a former teacher with Alzheimer's will support a charity that supports those with the disease.
Former Dagenham Grammar School pupils penned the book detailing their own experiences in the swinging '60s at the school.
Class Act: Tales from the One and Only Grammar School in Dagenham captures the essence of an era gone by, with each pupil providing a heartfelt account of their school days.
The book was formally introduced to the public on Wednesday, 20 May, at the Harrow pub in Hornchurch.

Paul Hookham, editor and co-author, collaborated with 17 former schoolmates, compiling memories from their time at Dagenham County High School between 1964 and 1969/70. The book is in support of Hilary Wood, who was their former teacher. Hilary herself contributed to the book, demonstrating her resilience in the face of Alzheimer's, a disease with limited support post-diagnosis.
An Alzheimer's advisor who has supported Hilary for the past three years also spoke to guests and alumni, alongside Paul and Hilary. It's hoped that the book will cast a light on the disease, encouraging more support for sufferers and increased funding for research.
