Young people who want to follow in the footsteps of Mo Farah are being given the chance to represent Barking and Dagenham in the Mini London Marathon.

Budding athletes will need to enter a three-mile time trial that takes place on January 28 with the quickest six boys and girls in each of the Under-17, U15, and U13 categories selected for the team.

The four runners-up in each age group will also be chosen as reserves for the Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon that takes place on April 22.

Weekly training sessions will be arranged with local running clubs to help the selected runners prepare for the Mini London Marathon.

The trial will be held at the Jim Peters Stadium in Mayesbrook Park, at 11am.

To secure a place at the trial visit newme.london/minimarathonform or register on the day of the event by visiting the stadium’s club house from 9.30am.
