A youngster from Eastbury Primary School has won an acting award.
Asha Kunjiraman’s star turn as Helena in an adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream earned her the prize of best actress in Sky Blue Theatre Company’s inaugural national competition.
Joanna Hodges, Eastbury’s assistant headteacher, said the school was “very proud” of Asha, who is in year four.
“The theatre company said that she gave a really striking performance,” she added.
Sky Blue Theatre Company runs workshops in schools across the country and visited Eastbury as part of the school’s World Book Day celebrations in March.
