A FAMILY heads off to a remote holiday home, only to find they are sharing it with aliens.

The invaders have a mind control device, but it only works on adults, so the five children must protect the grown-ups.

Adventure comedy ALIENS IN THE ATTIC (PG) is co-scripted by Mark Burton, one of the writers of Madagascar and Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, so early signs are promising.

He says he wanted to recreate what he loves most about films for the entire family - high adventure, unexpected thrills, inventiveness and likable characters, both young and old.

The idea came to him while he was at home with his wife and family in London.

The adults were with their friends downstairs while his children and their friends were having raucous fun upstairs.
