PEACOCK BC heavyweight Wadi Camacho helped the GB elite boxing squad launch a US tour with a 5-3 triumph over a strong American team, when he scored an impressive points victory in Norfolk, Virginia, on Friday night.

The 'Macho Man' proved too good for the stylish American choice, Anthony Mack from Dallas, Texas, as he slammed his way to a points victory.

The American scored with long-range punches, but was clearly shaken when hard-hitting Camacho unloaded his own powerful hooks.

He extended his early lead with a last-round assault to clinch an 18-9 winning points margin on the scorecard.

Andre Olley, who trains Camacho at the Peacock BC Gym in Canning Town, said: "It was great for Andre to get off to a good win in the USA, now we hope he will continue that form and return for a bout on our club show on November 13."

Camacho and the rest of the GB team move on to St Louis, Missouri, for a match on Saturday night, before they end their US campaign at Des Moines, Iowa, on October 30.
