WEST HAM slipped to their third defeat in a row on Saturday morning as Birmingham came from behind to take all three points.
After losses against Spurs and Stoke City, Tony Carr's boys were hoping for something more positive against the Midlanders, and it looked like they may manage it when they grab-bed the lead.
Republic of Ireland under-21 international Daniel Purdy took full advantage of a defensive mistake to race goalwards and finish with aplomb.
However, Birmingham grabbed an equaliser after half time, and despite Purdy going close again in the second half, it was the visitors who scored the decisive goal to take the points back up the motorway.
West Ham will have another chance to finally get back to winning ways this Saturday morning when they entertain Cardiff City at Little Heath.
West Ham: Street, Driver, Brown, McNaughton (Modelski), Sanchez, Moncur, Barrett (Okus), Wearen, Purdy, Hall (Werndly), Kearns.
