Youngsters used pens, paint, cardboard and stencils to make wishing wands and calendars at the Marks Gate Creative Café on Tuesday last week.

The arts hub in Rose Lane also hosted a stencil workshop on Friday. Both sessions were part of an ongoing project to transform Marks Gate and bring more colour to the area.

Organiser Sadia Ur-Rehman, said: “It went really well, it was busy from the moment we opened until we closed.

“They made some really interesting pieces and intriguing pieces.”

The New Year workshop attracted more than 40 families, while the stencil workshop played host to 30 families.
