A new Asda will open its doors next week.
The store in Whalebone Lane retail park, Chadwell Heath, will welcome shoppers on Monday.
More than 220 people have found jobs at the store which has more than 320 customer car parking spaces.
Barking and Dagenham mayor Cllr Hardial Singh Rai is due to officially open the supermarket at 10am.
The 29,000sq ft building will include a fresh pizza counter and bakery section, a George clothing section and a non-food section offering homeware and technology.
The site was previously occupied by B&Q.
