Students and staff at Barking and Dagenham College are celebrating after two victories at the prestigious Times Education Supplement Further Education (TES FE) Awards.
The college was presented with the Outstanding Support for Students Award at the event at the Park Plaza on Westminster Bridge, and was highly commended in the FE Provider of the Year category after being considered alongside hundreds of entries.
This is the third award the college has won at the annual TES ceremony since it was launched three years ago.
Judges at the February 28 ceremony, hosted by comedian Jo Brand, praised the college’s approach to addressing students’ needs, saying it was streets ahead of the competition.
Cathy Walsh, principal and CEO at Barking and Dagenham College, said: “We are delighted to have won a TES FE Award for a third year in a row.
“It is our mission to ensure every student leaves the College with the ability to succeed and become economically independent, and to win another accolade for the success of our support for students is a great boost to everyone here.”
She added: “It’s a real testament to our staff and their determination to ensure our students are enterprising, entrepreneurial and ready for work.”
