Barking and Dagenham dancers miss out on Britain’s Got Talent crown but aim for world title

Street dance crew IMD Legion might not have persuaded the public that they are Britain’s most talented act but the group have set their sights on world domination.
The dancers came third in their Britain’s Got Talent semi-final last week, just missing out on a place in the final of the popular ITV talent show.
The 23-strong troupe had hoped to secure a wildcard place in Sunday’s final, but the public voted for Jesse Jane McParland to be sent through to the final round and the judges, including Simon Cowell, opted for Boyband.
“They were disappointed as they felt they deserved a place in the final, they felt it was their time, but they respect the audience and the judge’s decisions and they are just so thankful that they made it to the semi-finals,” explained Gemma Cooney, mum of dancer India, aka Lil Indz.
“I’m so proud of them all. They didn’t just have to perform for Simon Cowell but also to millions of viewers at home and for children to succeed under that amount of pressure is unbelievable.

Now that the contest is over, the youngsters, who are aged between nine and 18, will be focusing all their energies on their next competition – the Hip Hop International World Championships.
The group will be represnting Team UK at the elite street dance competition in San Diego in August.
“They will use all the positive feedback from Britain’s Got Talent and use this to work towards San Diego,” Gemma said.
“They are determined to get to the final – that is their aim.
“They are going to re-group, work out what went wrong, learn from their mistakes and they will come back stronger than ever.”
