Halloween is upon us and you’re more likely to get a fright closer to home than watching scary movies, with more than a
quarter of Barking and Dagenham residents experiencing ghostly activity.
According to data compiled by adult education provider, City Lit, 29.7 per cent of people living in the borough have had a paranormal experience.
Examples of some of the spooky experiences that have happened in London include two elderly ladies kneeling at the bottom of someone’s bed praying, a woman from the Victorian era in the middle of a street at 12am and a figure resembling that of a relative who has passed away.
Director of sales and marketing at City Lit, Chris Jones, said: “London is the home to some of the most haunted areas and buildings, so it’s not surprising to find that a quarter of Londoners have seen a ghost.
