A search for 10,000 volunteer performers is underway for the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Artistic directors Danny Boyle and Kim Gavin are searching for dancers, actors, percussionists and all-round performers to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Bill Morris, director of ceremonies, education and live sites for the organising committee, said: “Previous performance experience is not required; applicants simply need lots of enthusiasm, a positive attitude and huge amounts of energy. However, performers will be required to attend up to two or three rehearsals each week in London from March 2012.”
Eligible applicants must be aged 18 years or older on 1 March 2012. Deadline for applications is Wednesday 31 August. To apply and for more details visit www.london2012.com/ceremoniescasting
