Police are appealing for information after the body of a young man was found lifeless in the Thames earlier this year.

Officers believe that the body might have been in the water for seven days before police spotted it in Ballast Quay on January 10.

The man, in his late twenties, is 5’9”, Asian, has short black hair and brown eyes.

He was wearing a black tracksuit jacket with blue stripes, a grey jumper, green tracksuit bottoms, a black belt with a white metal buckle and a pair of white and a green baseball cap.

The unidentified man was in possession of an Italian driving licence and an NHS card in the name of Varinder Singh. He was also in possession of a Selco trade card and a TV licence.

Officers carried out checks at the address provided on the documentation found on the man, but enquiries revealed that he was unknown to those who were questioned.

The man has 786 tattooed on his left hand, a number that possibly has numerological and religious significance.
