The Voice hopeful Emmanuel Nwamadi finished as a runner up in the final of the BBC talent competition on Saturday.
The former Barking and Dagenham College student performed Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye, as well as a cover of Seal’s Crazy alongside his coach Ricky Wilson – but it wasn’t enough to crown him as winner.
The 24-year-old was eliminated halfway through the final which was eventually won by 29-year-old Scottish firefighter Stevie McCrorie.
Speaking immediately after his elimination, Nwamadi described his experience on the show as “amazing” and praised his mentor Wilson.
Wilson also paid tribute to his mentee, who completed a BTEC Music Diploma at Barking and Dagenham College in 2012.
“He is a man of integrity a man of morals and a really good example to everyone,” he said.
“I have got so much respect for him and I am gutted that he went out.”
