AROUND 100 anti-fascists met in Barking to campaign against the British National Party.

Activists have been leafletting homes since mid-January to counter the BNP's campaign to win more seats in the local and general elections, and seize control of the council.

BNP leader Nick Griffin is standing against Labour MP Margaret Hodge in the parliamentary seat of Barking.

Donna, a Unite Against Fascism campaigner, said: "The people of Barking are united in making sure this does not happen.

"We need to stop them from taking control of the council and all the services.
