Residents and businesses in Barking have been told about changes that will affect the delivery times of their mail.

Royal Mail has announced that the IG11 postcode addresses may receive their post at different times due to the company’s efficiency drive.

While many customers will continue to get their mail by lunchtime, some may receive their post in the afternoon depending on where they live on the new delivery routes.

When mail volumes vary during different periods of the year, delivery times could also be affected.

Royal Mail said the changes were necessary to keep prices for its services low, in light of the fact that fewer letters are being sent.

It also warned that there may be a short period of adjustment as the delivery team gets used to new ways or working.
