A 'shadowy' figure in the jet terror plot flew into Britain using a false identity and posing as a newlywed on honeymoon, a court heard on Monday.

Mohammed Gulzar, 26, arrived with his wife just two days before the purchase of the bomb factory, it is claimed.

Gulzar, a British citizen, living in Priory Road, Barking. later claimed he was only a peaceful missionary for Islamic group Tablighi Jamaat.

But prosecutor Peter Wright QC said that his links to the ringleaders of the conspiracy showed he was heavily involved.

Mr Wright said: "Mr Gulzar is a far more shadowy figure in this conspiracy. No suicide video or martyrdom video tape has been found containing any declaration by this man.

"There is no connection between Mr Gulzar and the majority of the footsoldiers in this plot."
