A consultatation is being held to allow the public to air any concerns they have about Boris Johnson’s four-year strategy on policing.
As part of the plans, the Greater London Authority’s deputy mayor Stephen Greenhalgh is looking at ways to minimise the running costs of police stations and custody suites. He is visiting every London borough to hear residents’ views on the plans. Mr Greenhalgh, in charge of policing and crime, said: “In these challenging economic times, tough decisions will have to be made but ultimately we want to boost public confidence in the police, cut crime, and drive down waste.”
He is due to attend Barking Learning Centre in the town square with deputy assistant commissioner Helen Ball on February 21 at 6pm
