MARGARET Hodge returned to the front bench as tourism minister today (Tuesday) a year after standing down to look after her cancer-stricken husband.

The MP for Barking promised to continue working hard on constituency issues as she was appointed arts and culture minister as part Gordon Brown's mini-reshuffle.

The Labour MP stood down from her post as culture, creative industries and tourism minister to care for High Court judge Henry Hodge, who died of leukemia on June 18, 2009, aged 65.
