MP for Barking Margaret Hodge is expected to issue a statement later this morning amid allegations she was involved in a collision with a cyclist while using her mobile phone in a car.
The Post has been unable to contact Maraget Hodge directly, but a spokesperson for the Labour politician said a statement would be issued shortly.
Political blogger Guido Fawkes, who was first to report the accusations, claims in his article posted today that Margaret, who is chairwoman of the Public Accounts Committee, denied being on the phone when the incident happened.
The blogger reported that Margaret “strongly denies being on the phone when the incident happened, though she confesses she did have her mobile in her hand”.
He also claimed a video of the Conservative candidate in the Longbridge Ward by-election, Paul Ayer, confronting Margaret has been “mysteriously” pulled from video website YouTube.
