A rail group has called for an ‘express’ bus service after TfL laid out plans for Overground replacement routes.

From June until February next year, the Barking to Gospel Oak line will largely be closed as Network Rail carries out £130m electrification works to double its capacity.

TfL has decided to change the routing of the two existing rail replacement bus services to shorten journey times and reduce the effects of traffic congestion. On the Barking ‘T’ route, buses will leave every 15 minutes from Barking and stop at Woodgrange Park, Wanstead Park, Harrow Green, Leyton Midland Road and Walthamstow Central – in peak times every ten minutes.

Barking-Gospel Oak Rail User Group (BGORUG) has suggested a Monday-Friday express bus service linking Barking with Tottenham Hale, travelling every 30 minutes between 6am-10.30pm and every 30 minutes from Tottenham Hale between 3.30pm-8pm.

What do you think? Let the group know ahead of a meeting next Sunday with TfL by emailing info@gospeloak.org.uk. Head to tfl.gov.uk to find out more about the plans.
