Pupils swapped Barking for Boulogne to brush up on their French.

The youngsters from Northbury Primary School were joined by their parents for the day trip earlier this month.

The group travelled by coach from the Northbury Close school to Dover before catching a ferry.

Shopping and a trip to the aquarium were among the activities on the itinerary for the reception to year six pupils.

Year one teacher Emmanuel Boateng said: “The children found the journey on the ferry very exciting and in France they enjoyed the trip to the beach.”
