A school has been running printing workshops with a social conscience in an effort to raise money for victims of the Nepalese earthquake.
Eastbury Comprehensive School’s art and design department and technology staff have been busy doing mono, reduction, block printing and the traditional photography darkroom technique, photogram.
Prints will be sold off during a week-long silent auction to staff and students early next week, starting with bids of £1.
The proceeds will go to charity as the school endeavour to help those affected by April’s tragedy – which left 8,000 dead and 23,000 injured.
Jennifer Higginson, head of art and design at the school, said: “It’s really important students not only learn exciting new art skills but are socially aware too. We look forward to displaying the artwork and raising as much money as we can.”
