Cadet groups and dance troupes were among hundreds of young people to take to the streets of Barking for the fourth annual Youth Parade.

Sunday’s event, which began at Barking Park and saw participants walk to Abbey Green, attracted a crowd of spectators - including many proud parents - who helped to celebrate the positive contribution young people make to the borough.

They carried colourful banners and played instruments as the organisations - many wearing either their uniform or t-shirts bearing their club’s name - walked through the streets.

Participants then gathered on Abbey Green to watch performances by some of the groups and take part in a range of free activities.

They could also tuck into food and drink and find out more about some of the youth organisations taking part.
