I was deeply concerned that a number of CCTV cameras had been installed in Barking and Dagenham and more were being planned.
This means tha citizens will be unable to go for a walk, enter most shops, go to the Post Office, or the rubbish dump, without being spied on.
I have previously written to the Dagenham MP Jon Cruddas and various ministers about my concern at the national spread of these cameras, I now find they are practically being installed in my own back yard.
Cllr John Davis stated that they are a vital tool in the fight against crime.
This is like treating the disease rather than find out out the cause of the disease and preventing it.
He further went on to criticise the Tories for opposing cameras.
In my opinion every politician of any party should uphold the right of a citizen to go about his business in utmost privacy
