THE COUNCIL is introducing a new glass recycling scheme this June as part of its expansion of waste and recycling services.

Residents will receive a blue box to store the glass in until it is collected for recycling every fortnight. They should rinse out bottles and jars before recycling them.

The first collection will be either on June 16 or 23.

Other items such as broken glasses or window glass, light bulbs, cookware glass, pyrex glassware and window panes still need to be taken to Frizlands Re-Use and Recycling centre.

Elderly or disabled people, and those worried about putting waste out for collection can arrange assisted collections by contacting the council.
