Barking and Dagenham councillor and London Assembly member, Richard Barnbrook has been suspended as a councillor and censured by the London Authority for claiming there were three murders in the borough.

Cllr Barnbrook, deputy leader of the BNP in Barking and Dagenham, faced the Greater London Authority (GLA) standards committee on Thursday (September 24) receiving a suspension for October from Barking and Dagenham Council and a censure by the GLA requiring him to undertake ethics training.

The incident relates to a video the councillor put on his website

claiming that three murders had occurred in Barking and Dagenham when in fact there were none, though one woman who lived in the borough, was murdered in the east end.
