MILLWALL RUGBY CLUB'S budding under-13 side travelled to Clacton on Sunday, where they secured their first league victory of the season, winning 45-5.

Centre Bobby Grace was the star, scoring two tries and kicking five conversions for a personal tally of 20 points.

Full back Jacob Lajolie also chipped in with 15 points of his own, scoring three stunning breakaway tries, while Alfie Duffy and Michael Dola-Lami also scored a try apiece.

Head Coach Gary Mclaughlin was full of praise for his young charges, who have been admitted to the Essex under-13 league for the first time this season.

He said: "I must be the proudest coach in the country today. Those boys played their boots off and got themselves a well-earned victory, especially considering it was their first ever competition match, plus we were away in Clacton as well.

"If they keep up the good work, we have the makings of a very good team indeed.
