THE BODY of a man found on an industrial estate in Chadwell Heath has been identified as 45-year-old Neil Stott.

Mr Stott disappeared from his home in High Road, Chadwell Heath, at the end of October last year.

He was reported missing but was found dead last week close to Police Headquarters on Grove Road.

His body was behind a perimeter fence surrounding a parking area used by traffic officers and support teams.

A member of the public made the discovery and it is believed that his body may have been there for some time.

Police attended the scene at 1.30pm on Wednesday February 6.

The post-mortem was carried out at East Ham mortuary on Thursday February 7.

It revealed that Mr Stott had died of natural causes.

A local business woman, whose building backs onto the area in which the body was found, said: "There was a lot of fuss going on outside so I went out to see what had happened.

"The police had cordoned off the area to the back of our car park and all they would say was that an incident had taken place.

"I did hear later that they had found a body but we were never officially told anything.

"I also heard that the body had been there for a while maybe as long as two weeks."

It is unclear why Neil Stott's body ended up on the industrial estate, which is not far from his home.

The investigation is still ongoing.
